Second week adventures in Barcelona!

The second week in Barcelona, I was getting a little more settled in. It was my first week with my normal schedule that I will be going into the classroom at Escola Castella. I am enjoying all of the students I am working with. I have a lot of names to try to learn in these upcoming weeks since I am working with about every grade at this school. I am still trying to figure out how I can challenge myself in this school and what I can bring to the table to help the teachers and the students. I long to be stretched and discover another part of me that shines.

This week my traveling plans to other countries were coming into place. I booked all of my flights to all of the places I am going to on the weekends while I am in Europe. It was amazing to see Gods hand in it all. He truly fulfills dreams.

October 25th-28th I will be in Morocco with some students in my program. November 7th-10th I am going to Athens, Greece with 4 other girls. November 14th-17th I am going Granada, Spain to meet up with Elliot Harrison, who went to Colorado Christian University with me. He is doing ministry there. November 21st-24th I am going to Rome, Italy to see a friend that lives there. One of my past foreign exchange students from Germany will most likely will meet me there (waiting for her to book her flights). November 29th-1st of December, Abigal and I are going to Berlin Germany and Hamburg. We plan on meeting up with one or possibly two past foreign exchange students that used to live with me when I was in Elementary School. December 5th- 9th I am going to Warsaw, Poland to meet up with a past foreign exchange that used to live with me in 3rd grade. I will be staying with her family. I will meet her husband and her little baby girl.

I am still waiting to find out where I will be spending Christmas. There’s options but I am waiting for the Lord to confirm where He wants me.

Friends and Family, you all can be praying for safety during my time here. Pray that I stay at peace that I don’t know all of pieces and plans for all of my trips and for Christmas. Be praying the God gives me His wisdom and knowledge with how he wants me to pour into my host family, teachers and students at my school.

2nd graders at the Library

Schools here in Barcelona have to walk to a public library in their neighborhood. Barcelonas’ schools don’t have a library in their schools like the United States.

Picasso Museum

Pablo Picasso was born in the town of Málaga in southern Spain. When he was a young boy, his family moved to Barcelona. The city held an important place in Picasso’s heart throughout the rest of his life. Picasso wanted the museum to be opened in the city of Barcelona because of his ties to the Catalan capital.

Picasso museum consists over 3,500 pieces of art, many of which were donated by Pablo Picasso himself as well as his friends and family. Most of the collections ranges from 1890 to 1917.

I enjoyed watching salsa dancing with these lovely ladies. I loved learning how to salsa dance.
I went to Platja del Bogatell Beach in Barcelona with Tanya
Parc Guell
In 1885, Gaudí’s friend, an industrialist Eusebi Güell, captured the terrain on a mountain ridge, with a fantastic view of Barcelona. In 1890, Güell instructed the architect Antoni Gaudi to build a garden city. This was Antoni Gaudi’s largest project and it first opened in 1922.

I went to Parc Del Laberint- Jardi Museo with my host family but then I ran into Tanya.

  1. Beautiful picture and it looks like you’re having the time of your life. Please, please be safe! ZI really think the Lord is telling you to come home for Christmas. 🙂 HA! Love you and so proud of you for doing all of your travel arrangement. I can barely book a flight to Vegas. Please be safe, we got a emergency message telling of the political protests going on there. Please heed their advise and stay clear, be alert and pay attention to your surroundings. Love You and be safe! Dad
