Typical weekly schedule in Barcelona.

My normal day in Barcelona consist of waking up at 7:15 am. I normally shower and eating breakfast around 7:45am. Mark and my host mom are normally up by 8am and they start making their breakfast. They sit down at the table to eat around 8:10am but I’m done by then and making sure I have everything I want packed in my bag, such as my journal, Bible and my lunch. I am out the door, walking towards the metro station between 8:20-8:25pm. The Joanic metro station is about a 8 minute walk. I get on the metro which is normally jammed with commuters at that time. I get off at Passiege de Gracia and walk another 8 minutes to my school. Monday through Wednesday I start off assisting 4 and 5 year old until 10:30 am. I help the students practice say good morning in english than “Bon día” which is Catalon. I help them learn the words in English for the weather, days of the week and count numbers in English. Thursday I help 2nd grade until 1 pm with their art project. Monday through Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1 pm I help assist science class with Elena. We teach 3rd through 6th graders. Monday and Wednesday I have a break from 1 to 3 pm and after my break I help teach art to 5th graders and 6th graders. Tuesday and Thursday I am done at 1 pm. After 1 pm I go to a Café shop where I get coffee and eat lunch. The coffee here is so cheap and so good. Coffee cost between 1.89 to 2.50 euros. Sandwich is between 2.50-4 euros all depending on the size and which café I go to. Depending on the day, I will meet up with one of my new found friends at a café shop or go see a tourist place in Barcelona. I have dinner with my host family at 8 pm. After dinner I help my host mom Catalina do dishes, and then I normally go to my room. Depending on the night I will spend time with Mark but Catalina tries to get Mark to go to bed by 9:30pm.

Weekends are open. Since I don’t work on Fridays, my weekends are all three day weekends which gives me time to socialize with friends and tour Barcelona. In a few weeks, I will be venturing out to other countries during those weekends.
